This is a multidisciplinary research group in primary care, with a predominantly care profile and the support of professionals with a more methodological profile.
The aim of the group is to seek evidence-based answers to the clinical challenges of prevention and care of people with kidney disease and other chronic pathologies, the associated cardiovascular risk, with special attention to the approach to lifestyles.
The renal disease line addresses the prevalence, incidence, risk factors, management and associated cardiovascular risk of both mild-moderate chronic kidney disease and advanced disease to prevent progression to end-stage renal disease and its complications.
Lifestyle research, in an approach based on prevention and reduction of cardiovascular risk, includes assistance to smokers, promotion of physical activity, nutrition, and the effects of lifestyle on health.
